Goal of Treatment:Â The purpose of this treatment plan is to help Alexander develop a stronger sense of self-worth, manage emotional distress, improve family communication, and address challenges with identity and anxiety. We aim to help him feel more connected to self and family, while also building skills to foster positive relationships and a sense of belonging.
Key Areas of Focus:
Self-Identity & Self-Worth
Family Dynamics & Communication
Managing Anxiety & Emotional Distress
Cultural Exploration & Expression
Weekly Structure: Each week will focus on specific aspects of Alexander’s treatment, followed by activities that will encourage him to engage with his emotions, self-identity, and family dynamics. These activities, some in session, and some outside of session, will include experiential work, such as:
Engaging in music therapy with classical symphonic pieces.
Journaling exercises that promote self-reflection and emotional expression.
Creative art exercises that encourage self-expression.
Family conversations designed to address growth, challenges, and emotional needs.
Parent’s Role: As a parent, your active involvement is critical in supporting Alexander’s treatment. If possible, please:
Engage in active listening and non-judgmental communication during your interactions with Alexander, especially as he works through his challenges.
Participate in weekly family conversations that provide a safe space for both Alexander and you to discuss growth, difficulties, and emotional needs at home.
Support Alexander’s homework assignments by encouraging him to engage in activities such as writing affirmations, participating in music or art exercises, and completing family reflection tasks.
Attend one parent session per month, to ensure continued alignment between the therapy process and your involvement, online or in person.
Expected Outcomes:Â By the end of the 12-week treatment plan, Alexander is expected to:
Develop a stronger, more positive sense of self, feeling more confident in his identity and worth.
Be equipped with tools to express emotions healthily and manage anxiety, leading to better emotional regulation.
Improve communication with you, the parent, leading to a more supportive and understanding relationship.
Feel more connected to others, with a clearer sense of identity and purpose in his life.
A choice to transition into deeper therapeutic work around self-compassion, identity formation, and emotional resilience, and continued family engagement for 13-24 or termination of therapy.
Note:Â This treatment plan is designed to help heal from emotional pain, address depression, and begin building a future based on healthier relationships and self-acceptance. We look forward to seeing the growth that will unfold during this journey.
